Review by Jerome Johnston (Cybersecurity Editor)

One of the biggest problem most web surfers are facing with, especially when they have browsed the web for a long time, is the accumulation of cache, which is websites data stored by the browser on the hard disk, for quicker access to the same sites. The problem with cache is the fact that it can slow down webpage loading if over time and also can compromise the system security, if one accessed malicious websites in the past. Internet Explorer include an option for cleaning the cache, but some users may want to keep data for some websites, especially for the ones that require entering a username and a password, as deleting the cache means reentering the login information. Unfortunately, neither Internet Explorer, nor other browsers offer an option for selectively cleaning the cache. Still, there is a program that can do that, Delete Cookie.

The program installs rapidly and takes up little disk space and system resources. Every Windows version is supported for running Delete Cookies.

The interface of the software couldn't be easier, it just displays the number of cookies for every site and allows selecting the desired sites for which the cookies will be removed. The user can select certain sites or can select them all for removal. For every site, there is some information displayed, like the number of cookies, the time they were modified, the expiry date and the full address. Every action has its own graphical button and even beginners can use the software without problems.

Delete Cookie also offers a quick way for accessing the Privacy window from Internet Explorer, but this is not recommended to be used by beginners, as it includes a lot of complex settings.

Pros

It allows selecting only certain sites for removing cookies, thus keeping the login information for sites that require authentication.

Cons

The interface and the options are too simple for an advanced users. Delete Cookie is a great program for customizing the deletion of website cookies.
